Clars is thrilled to present our Furniture, Art, Spring Jewelry & Fine Asian Auction on Friday, April 18th at 9:30 AM PST. This exciting spring event features a remarkable array of curated offerings across multiple categories, promising something exceptional for every collector.
The jewelry selection will feature high-end pieces, including a striking Universal Genève 18k gold ‘Golden Shadow’ wristwatch, alongside a wide array of elegant designs to suit all tastes.
A major highlight of the auction is our Fine Asian Art section, headlined by an 18th-century pair of Chinese Huanghuali Southern official hat chairs, an imperial Qing dynasty yellow satin brocade robe, and a Ming dynasty polychrome wood figure of Guanyin—offering collectors rare opportunities to acquire masterworks of historic significance.
Additional April highlights include an impressive collection of Native American items, such as Santa Clara and San Ildefonso blackware, California basketry, and Acoma pottery.
In furniture, standout offerings include a classic Alvar Aalto tea trolley and a pair of iconic Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen Swan chairs. Our textiles feature a rich selection of carpets, including several fine Caucasian examples.
Our Fine Art Department will offer a diverse selection of art, including European works by Nino Caffè and Floris Arntzenius, early California paintings by Bertha Stringer Lee, and a vibrant Pop Art oil on canvas by Peter Max. The prints and photography category includes pieces by Edward Weston, Victor Vasarely, and James Rizzi, while the sculpture offering features contemporary works by Susannah Israel and James Gillette.
Preview the auction in person on Thursday, April 17th from 1–5 PM PST, or by private appointment starting Monday, April 14th.
