Pre-Colombian Moche ceremonial chicha stirrup jug, (200 BC to 550 - 750 A.D. Northern Coastal Peru), the form consists of two small hollow ducks resting on a mother duck's back with a stirrup spout positioned in front of a rolled clay handle, with applied scroll-like textile designs on the breast of the large duck as well as behind the stirrup spout and in front of the short tail, 8"h x 9.5"l, Provenance: Collection of anthropologist Wayne Anderson, unusually elaborate, age uncertain
