Description
Federico Garcia Lorca (Spanish, 1898-1936), Harlequin II, 1914, ink on paper, ink signed and dated lower right, inscribed "Buenos Aires," lower right, sight: 10.75"h x 8.5"w, overall (with frame): 12"h x 9.75"w. Provenance: Gifted to current owner from Mr. Hernan Felgueras whose great, grandmother was the famous Spanish actress, Lola Membrives, of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The son of Lola was Dr. Juan Reforzo Membrives, who was a great friend of Federico Garcia Lorca. On many of his visits to Buenos Aires, Lorca stayed in Lola Membrives apartment. The family stills has a collection of many works (drawings) by Lorca.
