Description
Cast bronze figure of Manjusri, shown seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus throne pedestal with the left hand in tarjanimudra, the figure elaborately adorned in ornamental attire, the serene expression framed by a eight-pointed crown and ornamental earrings, the back of the pedestal with an inscribed dedication dating it to the sixteen year of the Hongzhi reign (in accordance with 1501), 10.75"h. Provenance: Acquired from Gu Yea Guan Art Gallery, Bangkok, December 14, 1993.
