Description
Shoup Collection Wine Spectator - The bouquet is moderately intense, displaying sweet cherry, plum and spice. There is concentration, but the fruit is diffuse, with assertive tannins.The "Super" 1997 vintage didn't overlook the "new" Mondavi/Frescobaldi joint venture! Luce della Vite or "light of the vine" is surely shining brightly in this vintage. The best of the Luce so far is a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot from Montalcino with super ripe fruit, rich, earthy complexity and beautiful finish.
