Description
Chinese green and white jadeite belt buckle. Carved in low relief with a crane and pine tree, mounted as pendant, late 19th century, 3.125" wide. Provenance: Ex-Collection of George Turner Marsh (1857-1932), proprietor of G.T Marsh and Co. San Francisco CA (after 1876), one of the first major Japanese and Asian Arts galleries to open in the United States, thence by family descent. Note: Mr. Marsh was also instrumental in the design of the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, CA.
