Daniel Heide (Uruguayan, b. 1940), "Catharsis," 1987, acrylic on canvas, signed and dated lower right, canvas: 42"h x 48"w, overall (with frame): 46.5"h x 52.5"w. Note: Heide received his Masters in Architecture at the National School of Fine Arts in Montevideo, Uruguay, where he studied both architecture and painting. His Abstract Illusionist style draws inspiration from Spanish Informalism, led by artists such as Tapies and Fortrier, focusing on emotional expression through non-figural logical form.
