An early paint decorated and relief carved blanket chest, dated 1763, the paneled form with the front decorated with tulip reserves flanking the two large central reserves depicting a boquet of tulips and floral sprays with running deer, and unicorn, below with initials E.K and further decorated with floral reserves, retains original key and hardware, the sides with original bale handles, overall 34"h x 48"w x 25"d. Provenance: Property from the estate of Mr. Robert Darwin, television and film personality, author, and noted philanthropist. Proceeds from the estate are to be sold to cover student tuition at California State University, Monterey Bay
