Hiroshi Yoshida (Japanese, 1876-1950), "Rugano Machi (Lugano)," 1925, woodcut in colors, pencil signed lower right, seal lower right, titled lower left, sight: 10"h x 14.5"w, overall (with frame): 16.25"h x 20.5"w. Provenance: Property from the estate of Patricia Moffat Pope, San Francisco, CA. Patricia married George A. Pope Jr. in 1959, and together they built a Thoroughbred horse racing empire that included 27 stakes winners in the United States and Europe. Among the many races they won was the 1962 Kentucky Derby.
