(lot of 4) Edward S. Curtis (American, 1868-1952), "Tyo'o'ni Shiwanna Mask, Cochiti," "Iahla (Willow)-Taos," "Paviotso-Basketry," and "Mask of Octopus Hunter-Qagyuhi," photogravures mounted to plate cover envelopes, each with title and portfolio notations written in margins, each unsigned, overall (envelope/each): 10.25"h x 8.5"w. Note: "Plate covers are hand-made envelopes created during the publication of The North American Indian to store the copper plates used in the printing of the photogravures. Each plate had a separate cover that included a now well-worn envelope, a proof print attached to the front, and hand-written notations listing the title, copyright date, volume number, printing notes, and other relevant details" -Curtis Legacy Foundation.
