Description
A group of eight polychrome tole hanging lanterns, originally redecorated in second quarter 20th century by Caldwell & Co. for Marjorie Merriweather Post's Mar-a-Lago and likely redecorated again early 21st century, most of hexagonal form with pierced corona above a domed top, the rectangular sides flanked by turrets, flowerheads and leaf scrolls, variously decorated in tones of pink, green and yellow and gray, greatest 28"h. Provenance: Acquired at auction by Marjorie Merriweather Post before 1926 and redecorated by Caldwell & Co. for Mar-a-Lago, Palm Beach, Florida. Sold by Donald J.
