Description
Two 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exhibition (PPIE) automotive souvenirs, the first California license plate, 16"l; the second wood sign for the Grand Prix, 6.25"h x 18.25"w. Note: Due to World War I, the traditional European Grand Prix races were suspended. However, motor racing continued in the United States. The most significant event was the American Grand Prix, which was held in San Francisco in conjunction with the Panama-Pacific International Exposition.
