Note: Jose Formoso Reyes, of Filipino heritage, was a skilled basket weaver who created the iconic "Friendship Basket" pocketbook in 1948, incorporating a signature whale or seagull ornamentation into his designs. Over his career, he crafted an estimated 5,000 baskets before retiring in 1978.
