A Chinese famille rose 'landscape' porcelain plaque by Zhang Zhitang (1893-1971). Inscribed, dated to 1939, signed by the artist and with two seals, framed, 38"h x 16.5"w. Provenance: from a St. John, Indiana estate. Note: Zhang Zhitang (1893-1971) was one of the eight members of Zhushan Bayou. In his early years, he mostly painted landscapes on porcelain plaques after Song and Yuan masters, and was most productive between the years of 1937 to 1944.
