Description
An Extensive European Rococo silver and silvered gilt flatware service, possibly English by Stephen Adams, each piece with a leafy tipped handlecomprising (30) dessert forks 6"l; (30) dinner knives with a leafy crown tip on handle 8.5"l; (30) teaspoons 6"l; no quality marks, only knife handle and spoon handle testing for silver content (not the fork), the whole mounted in five green fabric trays stored in in a brass fitted green shagreen wrapped case with a Helen Crocker Russel label [90 total] Provenance: Property from the estate of Ethel Mary Crocker, granddaughter of Charles Crocker (1822-1888), chief contractor in the building of the Central Pacific (later the Southern Pacific) Railroad, thence by direct family descent.
