Goetz Valien (Austrian, b. 1960), "Ego," 2007, acrylic on canvas, signed, titled and dated in black ink verso, canvas (unframed): 108"h x 120"w. Valien is an Austrian Postwar and Contemporary artist known for his large, hand-painted movie posters. In August 2023, Valien won a lawsuit against the Martin Kippenberger Estate over authorship of the 'Paris Bar' paintings.
