A cast iron and other metal advertising sign for a San Francisco butcher supply, late 19th century, plaque inscribed 'Gloekler's Patent, June 25, 1889, Pacific Butcher's Supply, Co., San Francisco', 20"h x 24.25"w. Provenance: The Estate of Eddi Van Auken, Danville, California. Note: Pacific Butcher's Supply Co. was a San Francisco business that operated from at least the late 1800s into the early 1900s, providing essential goods for butchers. Directory listings show their presence in 1892, and later indicate two different locations: 770 Mission Street in 1897 and 1362 Post Street in 1906.
