After John James Audubon (American, 1785-1851), "Lepus Townsendii, 1842," plate III from "The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America," hand-colored lithograph, printed by JT Bowen (Philadelphia, PA), sheet: 21.75"h x 27.75"w, overall (with frame): 31"h x 35"w. Provenance: Collection of Henri Christian Nielsen, owner of Axiom Designs (later XN Designs). A key figure in introducing Italian furniture to San Francisco, lveisen also maintained a showroom in Soho, New York. Originally from Denmark, his expertise in Danish design was honed during his time at Georg Jensen on 5th Avenue.
