Description
A large and impressive Pacific Northwest articulated raven mask, attributed to Tom Patterson (Nuu-chah-nulth & British Columbia, 1962-) representing the Cannibal bird (Hok hok Hamatsa), before 1990, carved and painted wood with cedar bark at back of head and tufts along upper beak above moveable lower jaw with interior pulley system to operate the beak; also attached is a refashioned strip of fleece fabric and a small paddle, to aid the wearer in fitting the mask and performing, 48"h with cedar bark, 12"h wood mask only, 10 1/4"w x 70"l.
